The Baysox notched their biggest come from behind win of the year in front of a full house at Hadlock Field in Portland, ME as Bowie came from five runs down to win 8-7 on Saturday night.
Trailing 7-2 in the sixth inning the Baysox bats went to work. 3B Niuman Romero and 1B Christian Walker walked to open the inning. With one down 2B David Adams singled on a line drive to load the bases. A third walk then to DH Michael Ohlman brought in a run and knocked starter Mickey Pena from the game. OF Garaabez Rosa then registered an infield single to make it 7-4.
An inning later the Baysox xompleted the rally as the first five batters reached. With the bases loaded and no outs, OF Johnny Ruettiger doubled to right field to bring home two runs and make it 7-6. Adams would lift a SAC fly to center scoring the tying run and moving Ruettiger to third base. With the infield drawn in, Ohlman chopped a single up the middle to give Bowie the 8-7 lead.
Out of the pen Anthony Vasquez was fantastic. He worked three scoreless innings for the win. In the seventh inning, Vasquez got a double play ground ball to end the inning with runners at the corners to preserve the lead. Steve Hensley entered for a second straight night and held on for his second save of the year.
The comeback was the biggest of the year for Bowie. Ruettiger was 2-for-2 with 2 RBI's and Adams had his fourth consecutive multi-hit game. Ohlman now has hits in ten of 11 games. The Baysox will look for the sweep Sunday afternoon.
