OF Trey Mancini is tied for the team lead in home runs thus far in Spring Training with two as the Notre Dame product is hitting .333-2-5 with four runs scored in six games. Mancini spent parts of the 2015 and 2016 seasons in Bowie and batted .350 with 20 home runs and 71 RBI over 101 games.
INF Ryan Mountcastle , who is coming off a Carolina League (A+) batting title in 2017, is getting his first taste of big league camp and has hit .278-1-2 with three doubles and three runs scored in seven games for the Orioles. Mountcastle led all of MiLB with 48 doubles between Frederick (A+) and Bowie in 2017.
A year after hitting seven home runs in spring action, OF Cedric Mullins has drawn four walks and ranks second on the team with five runs scored in 10 games. Mullins appeared in 76 games for the Baysox during the 2017 season and hit .265-13-37 to go along with 19 doubles and nine stolen bases.
INF/OF Garabez Rosa appeared in nine games with Baltimore and hit a game-tying solo home run on Feb. 27 in a 2-1 win over Tampa Bay. Rosa was the recipient of the 2017 Eastern League MVP Award after hitting .310-14-91 in 124 games with Bowie.
INF Erick Salcedo appeared in seven games with the Orioles and was 4-8 with a double and a run scored. Salcedo spent the entire 2017 season in Bowie and hit .260 with five home runs and 47 RBI in 121 games for manager Gary Kendall's club.
OF Anthony Santander appeared on a Major League rehab assignment with Bowie in 2017 and has hit .286 with a home run, four RBI and three runs scored in eight games thus far.
OF DJ Stewart has played in nine games and is hitting .231 with an RBI, a run scored and two walks in Spring Training. In 2017, Stewart became the first player in Baysox history to record 20 home runs and 20 stolen bases in the same season.
C Chance Sisco , who played for the Baysox during parts of 2015 and 2016, has enjoyed a strong spring at the dish as the young backstop has hit .385-1-4 with a double and a pair of runs scored in six games. The Corona, Calif., native played for Triple-A Norfolk in 2017 and hit .267-7-47 in 97 G before making his Major League debut with the Orioles on Sept. 2 vs. Toronto.
LHP Jayson Aquino has made two appearances in Spring Training thus far and has not allowed an earned run while fanning four in 3.0 IP. Aquino pitched for the Baysox in 2016, going 5-10 with a 3.90 ERA in 20 G (19 GS).
LHP Tanner Scott has not allowed an earned run in 3.0 IP (3 G) and converted his only save opportunity to date. Scott pitched for the Baysox in parts of 2016 and 2017, combining to go 1-4, 2.86 in 38 G (24 GS) with 105 strikeouts in 85.0 IP. The southpaw made his Major League debut on Sept. 20, 2017 vs. Boston.
RHP Jimmy Yacabonis has appeared in three games and has fanned a pair over his three innings of work. Yacabonis pitched for the Baysox in 2016 and went 2-2 with a 2.03 ERA and six saves in 34 G.
Five former Baysox from 2017 have also pitched in one game this spring: LHP Paul Fry (0.2 IP, K), RHP David Hess (2.0 IP, H, BB, K), RHP Jesus Liranzo (1.0 IP, K), RHP Lucas Long (1.0 IP) and RHP Yefry Ramírez (2.0 IP, 3 H, 1 ER, 2 K).
The Orioles are back in action on Tuesday afternoon when they battle the Minnesota Twins in Fort Myers at 1:05 p.m.
