DAVENPORT, IA – Beloit Snappers (14-11) used home runs and strong pitching to capture a 7-0 shutout over the Quad Cities River Bandits (15-9) on Tuesday night. The first time the River Bandits have been shutout this season.

Griffin Conine started the action for Beloit with a solo home run to right field to put the Snappers up 1-0.

The next two Beloit hits came in the fifth inning. Snappers designated hitter David Martinez hit a solo home run out of the nine-spot to lead off the inning. Two batters later, Thomas Jones hit his own home run to put Beloit in a 3-0 lead.

With the game still within striking distance, the Snappers used a four-run ninth inning to capture a 7-0 win thanks, in part, to Troy Johnston’s bases-clearing double. Tuesday was his first day in a Snappers uniform.

Beloit's Top Performers: Conine was 2-for-4 with a walk and a home run, extending his hit streak to a season-best 11 games. Will Banfield reached three times. Martinez went 2-for-2 with two walks and a home run - his first of the season. Bryan Hoeing, Jackson Rose, and Tyler Mitzel combined to throw a one-hitter.
