May 16, 2018

Tied 1-1 in the ninth inning, Logan Farrar delivered a two-RBI triple to put the Beloit Snappers (15-19) ahead for good in their 4-1 victory over the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers (18-21).

Tied 1-1 in the ninth inning, Logan Farrar delivered a two-RBI triple to put the Beloit Snappers (15-19) ahead for good in their 4-1 victory over the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers (18-21).

After three scoreless innings by both teams, Hunter Hargrove and Jordan Devencenzi hit back-to-back singles to put runners on the corners for Farrar in the ninth. Farrar drilled his third triple of the season to score both baserunners and put the Snappers up 3-1.
After a Jesus Lopez RBI double scored Farrar to give Beloit a 4-1 edge, Snappers reliever Mitchell Jordan got through the T-Rats final frame en route to his 12 outs of relief for starter Ivan Andueza.
With the triple, Farrar delivered his 100th career minor league hit. The outfielder and designated hitter played for the Oakland Athletics Arizona Rookie league team and the Vermont Lake Monsters in 2017 before arriving in Beloit this season.
Beloit opened the scoring in the second inning, after Devencenzi doubled home Hargrove to give the Snappers the lead 1-0. They would hold that lead until the fifth inning when the T-Rats Tristen Lutz hit a solo homerun to tie it at one.
With a second inning double, Hargrove increased his hitting streak to 11 games. Over that span, Hargrove has increased his batting average from .246 to .312 while going 15-for-40 at the plate.
Andueza went a season long five innings, surrendering three hits and striking out six. Between him and Jordan, Snappers pitching gave up just five hits while racking up 10 strikeouts.
The Snappers were able to continue their extra-base hit streak to 21 games thanks to a Hargrove's double in the second. The streak began April 23 against the Peoria Chiefs and the Snappers have totaled 37 doubles, six triples and 11 homeruns.
This five-game series is now tied 2-2 and the rubber match will take place Thursday evening at 6:35 p.m. On the mound for the Snappers will be right-hander Jean Ruiz (0-2, 5.19). He will be opposed by Dylan File (5-1, 3.10), who is tied for the Midwest League lead in wins.
