COMSTOCK PARK, MI – The Sky Carp snapped their six game losing streak in grand fashion, setting season highs with 14 runs on 18 hits to down the West Michigan Whitecaps 14-3 on Wednesday night at LMCU Ballpark.

While Pat Monteverde fired his best outing of the season for Beloit, completing seven shutout innings with four strikeouts and no walks, the offense lit up Tigers No. 6 prospect Ty Madden and the rest of the West Michigan staff on the other side.

Beloit scored first with RBIs from Ynmanol Marinez and Victor Mesa Jr in the 3rd, before cracking it wide open with 6 runs on six hits in the 4th.

The rally was highlighted by a 3-run homer from Angeudis Santos, his first hit of the season with Beloit in his 2022 High-A debut.

As Monteverde continued to deal, the Sky Carp continued to score. In the 7th, Marinez and Cody Morissette both belted two-run homers to push the lead to 12-0.

After Monteverde ended his night with a 1-2-3 7th, Raul Brito allowed the only Whitecaps runs of the contest in the 8th – all three coming with two outs.

For good measure, Beloit got two of them back in the top of the 9th, using RBI knocks from Bennett Hostetler and Nasim Nunez, to make it 14-3. Jackson Rose preserved the score by striking out three straight to end the ballgame.

With the win, the Sky Carp even the series at one game apiece. The action will continue tomorrow at 6:05 ET, with Matt Givin starting his first game of the season for Beloit.

The Sky Carp return home for the first time since May 1 on May 17, as they host the Peoria Chiefs for Inflation Buster night. Fans can secure their tickets now at SkyCarp.com.
