The Beloit Snappers (2-1) were defeated by the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers (0-2) Sunday afternoon at Fox Cities Stadium in Appleton, WI by the score of 4-2.

The T-Rats jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning, as Tristen Lutz hit a solo home run with two outs in the frame.
Wisconsin then added a second run in the bottom half of the second, as Payton Henry sent an RBI double to left field, scoring Gabriel Garcia who doubled earlier in the inning.
After going 3-for-6 with four RBI Saturday, Austin Beck added his fifth RBI of the season with a sacrifice fly to center field, scoring Mickey McDonald who singled to lead off the top of the third inning and later swiped second base and advanced to third on a balk by T-Rats starter Nelson Hernandez.
The Snappers tied the game at 2 in the top of the fourth inning, as back-to-back doubles by Miguel Mercedes and Skyler Weber gave Beloit their first run with Weber picking up the RBI double down the right field line.
Snappers starting pitcher Xavier Altamirano came back out in the fourth inning and struck out the first batter in the inning in Gabriel Garcia. The next batter Gilbert Lara, however, hit a solo home run to give the T-Rats a 3-2 lead.
Altamirano was tabbed with the loss as he surrendered the three runs in 4.2 innings while surrendering six hits and he struck out five batters.
The T-Rats added an insurance run in the bottom of the seventh inning, as Franly Mallen came around to score after leading off the frame with a double to left-center. Mallen then advanced to third on a sacrifice bunt by Joantgel Segovia. With the infield in, Trevor Morrison bounced a dribbler down the first base line and Snappers first baseman Miguel Mercedes fielded it and threw on to the plate to try to throw out Mallen. Unfortunately, Mallen was safe at the plate and the T-Rats took a 4-2 lead.
The Snappers then failed to get a runner in scoring position in the eighth and ninth innings and fell for the first time in 2018.
Right-hander Michael Danielak will get the start for the Snappers Monday night in Burlington, IA, as he makes his Snappers debut. The Burlington Bees will counter with right-hander Isaac Mattson. First pitch from Community Field Monday night is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
