Beloit left 11 men on base, including the bases loaded twice, in the defeat.
Dax Fulton allowed two earned runs in 4 2-3 frames to take the tough-luck loss. Brady Puckett was outstanding in relief, retired all eight batters he faced, striking out four of them.
The Whitecaps scored an unearned run against Fulton in the first, then added a pair of runs in the fifth inning.
The two teams will meet in game five of their six-game series Saturday at 5:35 p.m. The Sky Carp will return to Beloit for a 12-game homestand beginning Tuesday at 6:35 p.m.
