Rumble Ponies Lose Third Straight to SeaWolves in Walk-off Fashion

ERIE, PA - The Erie SeaWolves (13-2, 44-37) completed a three-game sweep of the Binghamton Rumble Ponies (5-12, 40-41) Wednesday night with a 4-3 win in 10 innings at UPMC Park. All three games of the series ended in walk-offs.

Derek Hill delivered a two-out, two-run home run in the bottom of the 10th. In the top half of the inning, the Ponies took the lead on a Luis Carpio RBI single.

Erie won all three games in its last at bat. The SeaWolves won the opener 5-4 in the bottom of the ninth. Game two was the same score with the SeaWolves picking up the win in the bottom of the 10th. The Ponies have now lost on a walk-off four times in their last five games.

Carpio, Andres Gimenez and Braxton Lee each recorded two hits for the Rumble Ponies.

David Peterson started for Binghamton and went seven innings, in which he allowed two runs on six hits and struck out five. Erie's starter Logan Shore allowed one run on five hits over 6.2 innings of work.

The Rumble Ponies return to NYSEG Stadium Thursday night, when they begin a four-game series with the Akron RubberDucks. Mickey Jannis takes the mound for the Ponies against Eli Morgan. First pitch will be at 6:35PM. The Horizons Federal Credit Union pregame show starts at 6:20 PM and can be heard on NewsRadio 1290 AM WNBF and the Binghamton Rumble Ponies channel on TuneIn.

POSTGAME NOTES: Barrett Barnes singled in the first inning to extend his hitting streak to seven games, which ties his season-long… The SeaWolves have taken the last six games in the season series against the Rumble Ponies… Binghamton completed its eight-game road trip with a 2-6 record.
