The Birmingham Barons and Rocket City Trash Pandas teamed up to stream a game of MLB The Show 20 on the video game streaming service, Twitch. In this year's edition of MLB The Show, full minor league rosters have been included to make the game as realistic as possible. Unfortunately, the Trash Pandas won the virtual opening day game 12-5.
Bernardo Flores got the start on the mound for the Barons. He pitched five innings of two-run ball and struck out five batters and exited the game with the Barons trailing 2-1 in the sixth. The Trash Pandas got hot at the plate and scored 10 straight runs to extend their lead to 12-1.
The Barons would put up four runs in the bottom of the 9th, including a three-run bomb by Ti'Quan Forbes, but it would not be enough as the Rocket City Trash Pandas grabbed the 12-5 #MiLBAtHomeOpener win.
Luis Basabe went 2-5 with a double while Damek Tomscha went 1-3 with a double in the loss.
