White Launches Lookouts to 2-1 Series Lead

MONTGOMERY, Ala. - TJ White's two-run shot broke a scoreless tie in the top of the fourth, as the Lookouts regained a 2-1 lead in the 2017 North Division Series against the Biscuits on Friday night at Riverwalk Stadium, with a 2-0 win. The loss is now Montgomery's ninth in their last ten games against the Lookouts, and was their 22nd loss in 28 tries this season for the Butter and Blue against their North Division Rivals.  
Génesis Cabrera (0-1) got the start for the Biscuits and was rolling early, retiring the first seven Lookouts hitters he faced, before surrendering back-to-back one out singles to Ryan Walker and Brian Navaretto in the third. He was able to induce a couple of fly outs to get out of the inning, but then in the fourth, with one out, Jonathan Rodriguez hit a line drive single to center and TJ White, hit his third consecutive post-season homer to give the Lookouts a 2-0 lead, one they never gave up.
Cabrera had a solid performance, going five innings, allowing just two runs on five hits while striking out four in a loss, but their foe did just a little bit more.
The Biscuits would go to their bullpen in the sixth, and they took care of business, as Mike Franco retired six in a row, tossing two scoreless innings, and Jordan Harrison tossed a scoreless frame of his own facing the minimum, as they combined to retire to nine-straight Lookouts batters. After Kyle Winkler got through a scoreless ninth inning despite walking a batter and giving up a hit in the top half of the inning, the Biscuits continued to fight against one of the best closers in the Southern League, Gabriel Moya.
After Moya retired Jake Cronenworth, the right-hander drilled Justin Williams with a pitch right on the back to put a runner on first. He would end the game by striking out Nick Ciuffo, and in the process would earn his second save of the post-season.
Moya finished the regular season a perfect 24-for-24 in save opportunities and is so far a perfect 2-for-2 in the playoffs. The Biscuits will try to even the series in Game 4 on Saturday night when Logan Darnell (5-3) takes on Aldaberto Mejia (NR) at 6:15 PM CT at AT&T Field.
