Bisons activate Wang, Murphy

Herd loses Jimenez to temporary inactive list, Hottovy to DL

The Buffalo Bisons today announced that RHP CHIEN-MING WANG has been activated by the team and C JACK MURPHY has been promoted to the Herd from Double-A New Hampshire. Also, C A.J. JIMENEZ has been placed on the temporary inactive list, retroactive to August 28, and LHP TOMMY HOTTOVY has been placed on the disabled list, retroactive to August 27.

Wang was designated for assignment by the Blue Jays on Monday after appearing in one game in his second stint with Toronto. The righty was also with the Blue Jays in June and is 1-2 with a 7.67 ERA in six starts with the Blue Jays. For the Bisons, the righty is 4-3 with a 3.18 ERA in eight starts. Wang began the season with Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, and his combined 2.72 ERA between the RailRiders and the Bisons is 2.2 innings shy of qualifying as the 3rd best mark in the International League.

Murphy played 56 games with New Hampshire this year and hit .218 (43-197) with 11 doubles, one triple, three home runs and 22 RBI. Murphy was also with the Bisons, July 11-13, but did not appear in a game.

Jimenez has appeared in eight games with the Bisons since being promoted from New Hampshire on August 17. The catcher hit .233 (7-20) with a double and a walk.

Hottovy has appeared in 24 games out of the Bisons bullpen with no record and 3.44 ERA. He has allowed 20 hits with 19 strikeouts in 18.1 innings of work.
