Bisons add Robinson from Double-A

The Buffalo Bisons today announced that INF CLINT ROBINSON has been promoted to the club from Double-A New Hampshire. The team has also placed INF LUIS JIMENEZ on the disabled list, retroactive to July 5 and the Blue Jays have released C RAMON HERNANDEZ from his contract.

Robinson, 28, has spent the entire 2013 season with the New Hampshire Fisher Cats of the Eastern League. In 76 games, he has averaged .270 (78-289) with 14 doubles, two triples, 11 home runs and 43 RBI. He also led the Fisher Cats with 40 walks and a .364 on-base percentage. Robinson homered in each of his last two games with New Hampshire and is coming off a perfect 4-4 performance (HR, 4 RBI, 3 R) on Sunday against Binghamton.

Robinson was claimed off waivers (Kansas City) by the Blue Jays on March 29, 2013. He was a Pacific Coast League All-Star with Omaha in 2012 and hit .292 with 13 home runs and 67 RBI over 131 games with the Storm Chasers.

Jimenez, who has not played for the Bisons since July 1, has hit .307 (85-277) with 16 home runs and a team-high 61 RBI in 75 games. He also leads the Bisons with a .545 slugging pct.

Hernandez played in five games with the Bisons after being signed by the Blue Jays on June 30. He had two hits in 19 at-bats (.105) and drove in two runs with the Bisons.
