Bisons add trio of arms

Hottovy, Jenkins, Storey all put on active roster

The Buffalo Bisons today announced that RHP MICKEY STOREY, RHP CHAD JENKINS and LHP TOMMY HOTTOVY have been added to the team's active roster. Storey and Jenkins have been optioned from the Blue Jays while Hottovy has been promoted from Double-A New Hampshire.

The Bisons also announced that RHP CHAD BECK has been placed on the disabled list, retroactive to June 2. RHP JOSH JOHNSON has ended his Major League injury rehab assignment with the Bisons and has been activated by the Toronto Blue Jays.

Storey returns to the Bisons from his second stint with the Blue Jays. He was recalled from the Bisons on June 1, but did not enter into a game for Toronto. In 13 relief appearances with the Bisons this year, the righty is 0-1 with a 3.80 ERA. He has struck out 31 batters in only 23.2 innings of work.

Jenkins, 25, was officially optioned by Toronto on June 1. He made three starts with the Blue Jays, going 1-0 with a 3.60 ERA and six strikeouts in 15.0 innings of work. The four-year pro made 13 appearances and three starts with the Blue Jays last season, going 1-3 with a 4.50 ERA in 32.0 innings of work (16 SO). This will be Jenkins' first time at Triple-A, having jumped right to the Major Leagues from Double-A New Hampshire in 2012.

Hottovy, 31, has spent the entire 2013 season with the New Hampshire Fisher Cats. In 18 relief appearances, the southpaw is 0-1 with a 4.74 ERA and one save. He has struck out 23 batters in 24.2 innings of work and limited Eastern League lefties to a .172 (5-29) average against.

Hottovy appeared in nine games with the Kansas City Royals in 2012 and posted a 2.89ERA in 9.1 innings of work.

Johnson was 0-1 with a 6.23 ERA in two rehab starts with the Bisons. He struck out six and allowed nine hits in 8.2 innings of work.

Beck has appeared in eight games with the Bisons this season and is 1-1 with a 7.11 ERA in 12.2 innings of work (19 H, 2 SO).
