Blue Jays recall Anthony Gose

Mickey Storey optioned to Herd to bolster pen

The Toronto Blue Jays have recalled OF ANTHONY GOSE from the Buffalo Bisons and optioned RHP MICKEY STOREY to the Herd.

Storey made one appearance with the Blue Jays in his third stint with the club this season. The righty struck out the only batter he faced in an August 12 game against the Oakland A's. With the Bisons this season, Storey is 0-1 with a 3.00 ERA and two saves. He has struck out 62 batters and yielded only 35 hits in 51.2 innings of work. International League right-handed batters are hitting just .142 (16-113) with one home run against Storey.

Gose returns to Toronto for the second time this season. The outfielder has hit in 18 of his last 23 games with the Bisons and has been successful in his last 10 stolen base attempts. Overall, Gose has hit .239 (94-393) with 17 doubles, three home runs, 27 RBI and 22 stolen bases with the Bisons this year. He also leads the Herd with six triples and 64 runs scored.
