Josh Johnson to make MLB injury rehab start for Herd
May 22, 2013

The Toronto Blue Jays today announced that RHP JOSH JOHNSON will start for the Buffalo Bisons on Saturday, May 25 as the Herd hosts the Indianapolis Indians at Coca-Cola Field (1:05 p.m.). Johnson will have his Major League injury rehabilitation assignment transferred to Buffalo for the start.

The Blue Jays placed Johnson on the disabled list on May 2 (retroactive to April 29) with right triceps inflammation. He made his first MLB rehab start with Single-A Dunedin of the Florida State League on Monday and allowed just one run on three hits in three innings of work. He struck out five and walked none in that outing.

In four starts with the Blue Jays this season, Johnson is 0-1 with a 6.86 ERA with 19 strikeouts in 19 innings of work. The two-time National League All-Star was acquired by Toronto this past off-season in a 12-player deal with the Miami Marlins. The righty collected double-digit win totals with Florida in 2009 (15-5) and 2010 (11-6).
