Peace Bridge to glow Bisons, Blue Jays colors for Opening Day

Peace Bridge to honor Opening Day for two nights
April 1, 2013

The Buffalo and Fort Erie Public Bridge Authority (Peace Bridge Authority) and Buffalo Bisons Baseball announced today that the Peace Bridge will be illuminated to celebrate the return of baseball to the region and the new binational partnership between the Bisons and the Toronto Blue Jays.

The span will alternate between Bisons and Blue Jays team colors on April 3 (9:00 p.m. - 1:00 a.m.) and April 4 (9:00 p.m. - 1:00 a.m.) in honor of Bisons Opening Day on Thursday, April 4 against the Rochester Red Wings at Coca-Cola Field (2:05 p.m.).

The 2013 season will be the Bisons 128th season of professional baseball in Buffalo. This off-season, the Bisons became the new Triple-A affiliate of the Toronto Blue Jays as the clubs signed a player development contract.

The Buffalo and Fort Erie Public Bridge Authority, a binational authority, has owned and operated the Peace Bridge since 1933. The bridge, which was opened to traffic in 1927, spans the Niagara River between Fort Erie, Ontario, and Buffalo, New York, and is a key international border crossing. The Authority is governed by a 10 member board with an equal number of representatives from Canada and the United States.
