Blue Rocks Announce Annual Open House At Frawley Stadium

Fans Can Stop By The Ballpark To Watch Batting Practice, Get Autographs, And Buy Tickets
March 13, 2014

Wilmington, DE - The Wilmington Blue Rocks are excited to announce that the team's annual open house event will be held on Tuesday, April 1, at Frawley Stadium. This free event is open to all Blue Rocks fans, who are invited to stop by the ballpark between 5:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. to help celebrate the start of baseball season.

Fans will have the opportunity to get acquainted with both this year's team and Manager Darryl Kennedy by watching Blue Rocks players take batting practice from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. This event gives fans the opportunity to preview the talent set to take the field for the Rocks this season. Players will also be available on the concourse to meet fans and to sign autographs.

"We really look forward to our annual open house, since we have been preparing and planning for the season for months," said Director of Group Sales Stefani Rash. "This is our first opportunity each calendar year to re-open our home to the fans."

For those looking to purchase tickets to a Blue Rocks game or to the California-Carolina League All-Star Game and Hitting Challenge, presented by Bank of America, the box office will be open - and there will also be a ticket table set up on the concourse. Fans can even preview the seats they are interested in purchasing, before securing their seat location.

"Every year, we are blown away by the support of our fans, and this year is no different," Rash said. "Fans have already come out in droves this year to support not only our regular season games, but also the 2014 All-Star festivities. The open house is great because it allows fans to come and find the perfect seat in person for some of the biggest events of the year."

There will be another table set up for the kids, where they can learn about the Blue Rocks Kids Club and sign up for free. While at the table, kids will also have the opportunity to spin the Wheel of Fun for just $1. There will be many great prizes offered to those who choose to spin it.

Like in past seasons, the Blue Rocks are offering a special food discount to those in attendance at the open house. For just $5, Rocks fans can purchase a food card allowing them to get five pre-selected food and drink items at the open house. Among the items on the menu are Botto's Italian sausages, Dietz & Watson hot dogs and select Coca-Cola products.

"With the Blue Rocks, we always strive to provide our fans with a great value," Rash said. "By purchasing our five dollar food card special at the open house, Blue Rocks fans will be able to sample some of the great food offerings we'll have at Frawley Stadium during the 2014 season."

Fans can also stock up on new Blue Rocks apparel and souvenirs at The Quarry Team Store, which will be open for the duration of the open house. Since Opening Night is scheduled for just a week later, it is a perfect time to make sure you have all of the latest Blue Rocks gear.

The Blue Rocks begin their 2014 campaign on the road at Winston-Salem on Thursday, April 3. The 22nd season of Blue Rocks baseball at Frawley Stadium begins with the home opener on Tuesday, April 8. Individual tickets for the upcoming season and the California-Carolina League All-Star Game and Hitting Challenge, presented by Bank of America, are on sale now and can be purchased by calling 302-888-BLUE, by going to BlueRocks.com, or by visiting the Blue Rocks box office.
