Blue Rocks Install New Concourse and Bathroom Flooring at Frawley Stadium

Wilmington, DE -- In their ongoing effort to provide the best fan experience in minor league baseball, the Delaware Stadium Corporation and the Wilmington Blue Rocks announced they have completed work on a complete overhaul of the concourse and bathroom floors at Frawley Stadium. The project will provide for better, safe footing as they traverse the walkways of the 23-year-old ballpark.  

The Delaware Stadium Corporation and the Blue Rocks partnered with M.J. Bradley Flooring and architectural firm Ewing Cole to complete this project. The work began in September, grinding the old surface to the original bare concrete and installing a new waterproof coating system over the course of the last two months. 

The project is part of the Blue Rocks' ongoing efforts to improve Frawley Stadium. Last year, the organization, the Delaware Stadium Corporation and the state of Delaware collaborated to install new seats at the ballpark.

"The new concourse looks great, and will be an immediately noticeable improvement to everyone who comes to Frawley next season," said Blue Rocks managing partner Dave Heller. "We are working closely with the DSC, the Governor and our state legislators to completely transform the fan experience of Blue Rocks baseball, and the new concourse, coupled with the five thousand new seats we added last year, are just the beginning of that process, but they provide an important foundation for our big picture plans."

"Like the new seats last year, resurfacing the concourse for this 23-year old facility is part of an effort to maintain and improve this family-friendly venue, and we very much appreciate of the support received from the Delaware General Assembly and Governor in this regard," said Tom McGonigle, chairman of the Delaware Stadium Corporation.

"When you think about improving the surface at a baseball stadium your first thought is the field," said Blue Rocks general manager Chris Kemple. "This is just as, if not more important though. Fan safety is always a top priority for us and furthermore it looks great too, which is an added bonus.

The Blue Rocks will celebrate their 25th season in 2017 and have plenty of fun in store for their fan base. Season seats, mini plans and group packages for the upcoming campaign are on sale now.
