Pensacola, FL - It is with great pleasure the Pensacola Blue Wahoos introduce Dustin Hannah as the new Head Groundskeeper for one of the most beloved ballparks in minor league baseball. The Blue Wahoos Stadium won the best ballpark in 2012, 2013 and 2016.

It is also with a great understanding that Hannah has big shoes to fill coming onboard as the former Head Groundskeeper, Ray Sayre, has consecutively been voted Groundskeeper of the Year by the Southern League managers and umpires since 2013.
Hannah said, "I am excited about the 2018 baseball season. Ray has set the bar high, and I plan to continue what he has done by being the next Groundskeeper of the Year. My plan is to keep the award here at Blue Wahoos Stadium."
Originally from Crestview, Florida, Hannah was raised in a military family. In his last year of high school, he graduated in Honolulu, Hawaii, where his stepfather had been stationed. After high school, Hannah moved to Lake City, Florida where he received his turf degree from Florida Gateway College. Following turf school, Hannah went to Roger Dean Stadium for Spring Training, where he worked with the Saint Louis Cardinals and the Miami Marlins. There, he started out at the field as an intern and worked his way up to be the Assistant Head Groundskeeper.
Now a part of the Pensacola Blue Wahoos, Hannah works diligently to prepare the field for baseball season. President of the Blue Wahoos, Jonathan Griffith is excited for the players and community to see the ballpark that Hannah has worked to flip from a football field for the University of West Florida, to a baseball field for the Blue Wahoos. "We are happy to be able to add Dustin to our team and bring him back home to our community. Dustin will be a vital part of improving the quality of life here in Pensacola with an elite field for baseball and football," said Griffith.
Hannah also owns the brown Labrador Retriever that has received lots of recognition on the Blue Wahoos social media pages like on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. Bailey comes to work alongside Hannah and monitors his every move. Bailey is adored by the Blue Wahoos staff and fans, for that she has been named the Blue Wahoos 'Cutest' Groundskeeper.
The Pensacola Blue Wahoos are the Double-A affiliate of the Cincinnati Reds. Established in 2012, the Blue Wahoos are in the Panhandle of Northwest Florida and play baseball at Blue Wahoos Stadium.
