Baseball Academy to Host "BlueClaws Invitational"

October 18th through 20th at FirstEnergy Park

LAKEWOOD, NJ - BlueClaws Baseball Academy and their two youth teams - the BBA Claws Red and the BBA Claws Navy - will host a 17-under tournament at FirstEnergy Park October 18th through 20th.

The inaugural BlueClaws Invitational, and eight-team tournament, guarantees participating teams three games over a three-day period on the home field of the Lakewood BlueClaws.

Two additional teams are needed to participate. With any questions or to register a team, please call BlueClaws Baseball Academy Director Joe Agnello at 732-901-7000 ext 209.

Touranment Notes: Each game will be seven innings. There are no run rules, though an inning cannot start after 1 hour and 50 minutes. This is a Wood Bat Tournament. Baseballs and umpires are included. There will be two umpires for all games. Team registration is $1,200.

About BlueClaws Baseball Academy: BlueClaws Baseball Academy provides elite baseball instruction to youth players throughout the year at FirstEnergy Park and is fully supported by the Lakewood BlueClaws, single-A affiliate of the Philadelphia Phillies. This fall, the BlueClaws and BlueClaws Baseball Academy are running two 17-under teams, believed to be the first time that a Minor League Baseball team is running their own youth teams that play their home games in the Minor League stadium. 33 players from Monmouth, Ocean, and Burlington Counties have been chosen to play.
