The win, coupled with Kannapolis sweeping a double-header from Hagerstown, pulls the BlueClaws within one game of first place Kannapolis with three games left in the first half. The win also marked the fourth series sweep of the season by the BlueClaws (one of Kannapolis, Charleston, Greensboro, and Delmarva).
Lakewood, who had 14 runs on 21 hits on Wednesday, added eight more on 12 hits in this game.
The BlueClaws opened the scoring in the first inning on an RBI single from
Brett Barbier homered in the fourth inning for his third of the year and second in as many days.
