Hopkins will be taking on challengers from the crowd on a pool table located in the outfield bar area of First Energy Park, the area affectionately known as the WRAT Trap.

Hopkins is ranked in the top 16 of the Women's Professional Billiard Association (WPBA). She's won numerous titles and competed in the historic live televised coverage of the WPBA in ESPN's Ultimate 9-Ball finals. Hopkins diverse knowledge of the sport secured her the position as ESPN commentator for women's billiards over the last 20 years.

In addition, Hopkins runs the Jersey Shore APA Pool League that serves Ocean and Monmouth counties. Representatives from the Jersey Shore APA will be in attendance recruiting new players for the fall session. Beginner and novice players looking to have fun, meet people and play pool are encouraged to stop by and shoot a game with Hopkins.

The APA, based in Lake Saint Louis, Mo., sanctions the world's largest amateur pool league, known as the APA Pool League throughout the United States, and as the Canadian Pool League in Canada. Nearly 270,000 members compete in weekly 8-Ball and 9 Ball League play. The APA is generally recognized as the Governing Body of Amateur Pool, having established the official rules, championships, formats and handicap systems for the sport of amateur billiards.

The APA produces three major tournaments each year-the APA National Team Championships, the APA National Singles Championships and the U.S. Amateur Championship-that, together, pay out more than $1.5 Million in cash and prizes annually! In 2010, the APA National Team Championships were recognized by Guinness World Records as the "world's largest pool tournament."

The APA and its championships are sponsored by Aramith, Action Cues and PoolDawg. For more information on how to get involved in the APA, contact 609-226-0646 or visit jerseyshoreapa.com .
