Ferris Wheel Coming to ClawStar Spectacular

Fans can ride five-story Ferris Wheel at both Celebrity Hitting Challenge and SAL All-Star Game in June at FirstEnergy Park
May 7, 2013

LAKEWOOD, NJ - The 2013 South Atlantic League All-Star Game logo includes a Ferris Wheel, and the BlueClaws are excited to announce that this logo is coming to life. There will be a 50-foot high Ferris Wheel at both the June 17th Celebrity Hitting Challenge and the June 18th South Atlantic League All-Star Game at FirstEnergy Park.

Both events are presented by Barnabas Health's Kimball and Community Medical Centers, OceanFirst Bank, and Shore Point Distributing.

The BlueClaws, in conjunction with Cliffhanger Productions of East Rutherford, will bring the five-story Ferris Wheel to FirstEnergy Park. Fans can ride the Ferris Wheel for just $5 at both the Celebrity Hitting Challenge and SAL All-Star Game.

"This is a once-in-a-lifetime ballpark opportunity for our fans," said BlueClaws General Manager Brandon Marano. "With a beach-themed event and a Ferris Wheel a part of the logo, it seemed like a natural fit. We think fans are really going to have a great time riding the Ferris Wheel at the ClawStar Specatular."

Tickets for the two events are currently available by calling 732-901-7000 option 2 or online at BlueClaws.com/AllStar.

The June 17th Celebrity Hitting Challenge is a unique hitting contest with special targets scattered all across the field. Among the participants are former Phillies Mickey Morandini, Matt Stairs, and Mitch Williams, former Met and Yankee Doc Gooden, former Giants linebacker Pepper Johnson, former Jets running back Bruce Harper, and comedians Artie Lange and Jim Florentine, and more.

The Celebrity Hitting Challenge also has an on-field VIP area where fans can enjoy the event from behind protective netting on the infield while taking part in an all-you-can-eat buffet and open bar. VIP tickets are $75 and can be reserved by calling 732-901-7000 option 2.

The 54th South Atlantic League All-Star Game takes place on June 18th and will include 50 of the brightest stars in the South Atlantic League. Among the former participants are Ryan Howard, Mickey Morandini, David Wright, Steve Carlton, Nolan Ryan, Don Mattingly, Ryne Sandberg, Bryce Harper, and Manny Machado. Rosters for the All-Star Game are scheduled to be announced in early June.

The BlueClaws are the Jersey Shore's top stop for affordable family entertainment. They have led the South Atlantic League in attendance in all 12 years of existence.
