Giombarrese Honored By SAL

LAKEWOOD, NJ - BlueClaws radio broadcaster and media relations director Greg Giombarrese was named South Atlantic League Media Relations Director of the Year, it was announced on September 1st by League President Eric Krupa. This is the second time Giombarrese has won this award, after he also won in 2011.

Giombarrese, a 2006 graduate of Fordham Univeristy, has been with the BlueClaws in his current role since 2009 and interned with the team in 2007. He coordinates all BlueClaws media efforts, updates BlueClaws.com, the team's Facebook and Twitter pages, BlueClaws Blog, and of course, broadcasts BlueClaws games on the Shore Sports Network.

A presentation was made on the field with Giombarrese and BlueClaws General Manager Brandon Marano acknowledging the award.

Giombarrese began broadcasting at WFUV while a student at Fordham University, calling Fordham football, basketball, and baseball games. He has previously worked with the River City (Missouri) Rascals, for the ESPN trivia show Stump the Schwab, for ABC Sports Radio, and for USOpen.org Radio.

He grew up in Westwood, New Jersey and was a 2002 graduate of Westwood High School.
