Former BlueClaws manager Dusty Wathan has been named the Phillies new third base coach under manager Gabe Kapler.
Wathan managed the BlueClaws in 2009, leading the team to their second South Atlantic League championship.
He spent 2017 managing Triple-A Lehigh Valley after five years in Reading (2012-2016) and two years in Clearwater (2010-2011). Wathan joined the Phillies player development staff as Williamsport's manager in 2008.
The 2009 BlueClaws reached the post-season as South Atlantic League Northern Division First-Half Champions. They defeated Kannapolis in the SAL Northern Division Championship Series and Greenville in the SAL Championship Series.
