Bluefield Blue Jays manager Dennis Holmberg started working for Toronto in 1978. Heading into the Appalachian League playoffs, he has the chance to earn his first ring in the system.

On July 2, 2018, Wild Things Boarding and Grooming, Animal Care Center (Dr. Gary Brown DVS), and Veterinary Associates (Dr. Joe Blair DVS) are all teaming up to sponsor our Pounds for Hounds Night. Be one of the first 250 people at the gate with a donation of three or more pounds of cat or dog food and get free admission into the ball game. All donations will go to benefit the Mercer County Animal Shelter!
Our first FIREWORKS night of the year will be July 3, 2018, following the game. This night will be sponsored by the Cofer/Payne Fund and the Community Foundation of the Virginias, Inc.
On July 21, 2018, Mefcor Outdoors will be sponsoring our Lee Landers Bobble Head Night. The first 225 people through the gate will receive a free Lee Landers "King of Baseball" Bobblehead! Mr. Landers is the retiring Appalachian League President.
The Pride of the Bluefields Night will be held on August 3, 2018. The sponsors of the event are the City of Bluefield, WV and the Town of Bluefield, VA. There will be fireworks after the game so come out and show your Bluefield pride and enjoy the game and some fireworks!
To honor our local Coal Miners and Coal Mining Heritage, on August 6, 2018 we will be having our Coal Miner Appreciation Night. The event will be sponsored by Brick Street Insurance, Ramsey Industrial, Met Resources, and Coronada Coal. The first 350 people through the gate with paid admission will receive a Coal Miner Statue (as seen on the left).
