Severino walks off to win 9-8

BLUEFIELD---In one of the most exciting games of the season, Jesus Severino hit a walk-off single to beat the Cardinals 9-8 Saturday night.

After Josh Lopez smoked a two-run home run in the top of the 9th to tie the game 8-8, Levi Scott led off the bottom half with a single. After Cameron O'Brien walked, Severino snuck a ground ball through into right field to score Levi Scott all the way from second. 

Conner Eller got the win to improve to 4-2, while Anthony Shew fell to 0-1 on the year.

Bluefield is now 35-27 on the season while Johnson City dropped to 37-26. The two teams will play Sunday at Bowen Field at 6:05.
