Twins sweep makeshift doubleheader

Blue Jays remain in 2nd place

BLUEFIELD---Elizabethton edged the Jays 7-6 in Game 2 of the series, and then dominated 4-1 in the seven inning contest to close play with Bluefield.

Alex Kiriloff scored the go ahead run in the top of the 9th against the Jays to hand Bluefield their first loss after the five game win streak.

In the second game, Tyler wells pitched 5 scoreless innings before Vladimir Guerrero Jr. pushed in his 36th RBI on the season on a sacrifice fly. 

Osman Gutierrez fell to 3-3 on the season while Andrew Deramo dropped to 0-3. 

Bluefield travels to Princeton Tuesday in a Mercer Cup showdown. They trail Princeton in the race 4-3. The game will start at 7:00.
