Bluefield gets ready for season opener with new coaching staff

With the 2019 season right around the corner, the Bluefield Blue Jays announce their new coaching staff. 

Luis Hurtado was named the new manager of the Bluefield Blue Jays for upcoming 2019 season. Hurtado was born in Maracay-Venezuela on April 11th 1988. He signed as a non-drafted free agent by the Blue Jays on September 21st 2005 and has been coaching since 2013 in the DSL. Hurtado is excited to be apart of the Blue Jays program and is ready to have a successful 2019 season. 

The Bluefield Blue Jays has also hired Rafael Lazo as the new Pitching Coach, Paul Elliot as the Hitting Coach, Robert Murdock as the Strength and Conditioning Coach, as well as Brandon Hammerstrom the new Head Trainer. Chris Schaeffer will be returning for his 9th season as the Bluefield Blue Jays Position Coach.
