Baysox Falter Late in 4-2 Loss

New Hampshire Grabs Go-Ahead Run in Seventh

MANCHESTER, NH - The Bowie Baysox (27-30) rallied in the ninth, but fell short in a 4-2 loss to the New Hampshire Fisher Cats (36-24) on Friday night at Northeast Delta Dental Stadium in Manchester.

Trailing 4-2, the Baysox had runners at first and second with one out in the ninth, but RHP Andrew Case (0.2 IP, 2 H, BB, K) and LHP Danny Young (0.1 IP, K) combined to close things out for New Hampshire. Young notched his first save of the year.
The Fisher Cats took the lead for good with a run in the top of the seventh as Patrick Cantwell drew a leadoff walk, advanced to second on a single, took third on a hit by pitch and scored on Cavan Biggio's sac fly to give the hosts a 3-2 advantage.
RHP Michael Kelly (1.2 IP, 3 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 2 BB, 2 K) was dealt the loss for the Baysox and falls to 1-4 on the year.
Biggio reached with a one-out single in the first, advanced to third on a double and scored on Harold Ramirez's RBI groundout to give New Hampshire a 1-0 lead.
Audry Pérez's solo shot off of Fisher Cats starter T.J. Zeuch in the top of the second tied the game at one apiece. The home run was Perez's second in as many nights and his fifth of the season with Bowie.
In the top of the sixth, Anthony Santander tripled with one out and scored on Ryan Mountcastle's RBI groundout to give the Baysox a 2-1 lead for the time being.
Bo Bichette tripled to lead off the bottom of the inning and scored on Ramirez's RBI single to tie the game at two.
Zeuch (4-2) gave up two runs on four hits to go along with two walks and two strikeouts in 7.0 IP.
Bowie starter Christian Binford (n/d) allowed two runs on seven hits while walking one and fanning five in six innings of work.
Aderlin Rodriguez (2-4) had a multi-hit game for manager Gary Kendall's squad.
The series continues on Saturday at 6:35 p.m. as LHP Keegan Akin (6-4, 2.73) gets the start for the Baysox against Fisher Cats RHP Josh DeGraaf (1-2, 6.39).
