BOWIE, Md.- Corban Joseph's go-ahead three-run shot in the seventh gave the Bowie Baysox (20-23) the lead for good in an 8-5 victory over the Altoona Curve (21-19) on Tuesday night at Prince George's Stadium in Bowie.

In the afore-mentioned seventh inning, a single and a walk had two men with two away on before Joseph cleared the bases with a three-run blast off of RHP Yeudy Garcia to give the Baysox a 6-3 lead. Anthony Santander followed Joseph with a single and Ryan Mountcastle extended the lead with a two-run homer. The home run was Joseph's team-leading seventh of the year and Mountcastle's first.
Garcia (1.2 IP, 5 H, 5 R, 5 ER, BB, 3 K) was tagged with the loss for Altoona and drops to 0-2 on the year.
Trailing 8-3, the Curve loaded the bases in the ninth courtesy of two walks and a hit by pitch and a pair of runs scored with a sac fly and an RBI fielder's choice to bring the visitors within 8-5.
RHP Michael Kelly (2.0 IP, 0 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 3 BB, 3 K) got the win for the Baysox to improve to 1-3 on the year. RHP Tanner Chleborad (1.0 IP) came on with the bases loaded in the ninth and got the final three outs to notch his second save.
The Baysox grabbed an early 1-0 lead with a run in the second as Austin Hays doubled with one out, stole third and scored on a throwing error charged to Altoona C Christian Kelley .
In the top of the fourth, a pair of walks put two men on before Logan Hill gave the Curve a 3-1 lead with a three-run shot off of Baysox starter Keegan Akin.
Akin (n/d) gave up the three runs on five hits to go along with three walks and seven strikeouts in six innings of work.
Bowie tied the game in the home half of the sixth on Mountcastle's two-run single with the bases loaded.
Altoona starter Taylor Hearn (n/d) allowed three runs (two earned) while walking two and fanning six in 5.1 IP.
Joseph (2-4, HR, 3 RBI, R) and Mountcastle (2-4, HR, 4 RBI, R) both had multi-hit games for manager Gary Kendall's squad. The four RBI for Mountcastle tied a career-high, the fifth four-RBI game of his career and his first since August 29, 2017 vs. Trenton.
The series continues on Wednesday at 6:35 p.m. as LHP Jayson Aquino (1-2, 7.50) gets the start for Bowie against Altoona RHP Pedro Vasquez (0-0, 4.91).
