Bowling Green, Kentucky– The Bowling Green Hot Rods (25-17) put up four runs in the fourth inning, but fall 20-6 to the Brooklyn Cyclones (19-21) on Friday night at Bowling Green Ballpark. BG and Brooklyn will continue their series on Saturday night, with first pitch set for 6:35 PM CT.

Brooklyn started off the scoring in the second with a solo home run that made it 1-0. The Cyclones added four in the second on another solo shot and two RBI singles that increased their lead to 5-0. Bowling Green got on the board in the bottom half of the frame, beginning with a one-out double by Logan Driscoll. Garrett Hiott advanced Driscoll to third on a groundout before a wild pitch brought him home, cutting the Cyclones lead to 5-1.

A scoreless fourth kept the momentum going for Bowling Green and so did a one-out triple from Kyle Manzardo. He scored on an RBI single from Diego Infante that made it 5-2. Tanner Murray added a hit that moved Infante to third. He scored on Beau Brundage’s double that cut the deficit to 5-3. Logan Driscoll cleared the bases with a single to tie the game at 5-5, but the Cyclones put up five runs in the fifth, including two home runs, to make it 10-5. BG fought back in the home half, adding a run after Alika Williams singled, Osleivis Basabe walked and Manzardo singled to lead off the frame. Infante drove in his second run of the game on a double play to make it 10-6. That would be the last of the Hot Rods runs, however, as Brooklyn responded with a ten-run, six-hit inning en route to a 20-6 victory.

Patrick Wicklander (0-1) allowed seven runs on nine hits, allowed two walks and struck out five in 4.0 innings to take his first loss of the season. Cameron Leonard threw 1.0 inning and allowed six runs on six hits with a strikeout. Sean Mullen returned to the Hot Rods bullpen with 0.2 innings of work, walking three and allowing seven runs on two hits. Joe La Sorsa threw 2.1 innings for BG, allowing one hit, walking one and striking out four. Beau Brundage came in from right field to pitch the ninth, and allowed one hit in 1.0 inning.
