Great Lakes hit three home runs in the win

MIDLAND, MI - The Bowling Green Hot Rods (22-15) lost their second straight game to the Great Lakes Loons (11-23) 10-5 this afternoon. The Loons used three home runs, all solo shots, to get the win. RHP Tobias Myers was tagged with the loss.
Great Lakes put up three runs in the bottom of the second on two solo home runs and an rbi double, earning a 3-0 lead.
Bowling Green responded in the top of the third with a three run inning of their own. Three singles and a walk highlighted the inning, as C Zac Law and DH Taylor Walls each had run scoring base hits in the frame.
Unfortunately for the Hot Rods, the tie game didn't last. The Loons scored four runs in the third to take a 7-3 lead after three innings.
In the fifth inning, however, the Hot Rods got back on the scoreboard. RF Eleardo Cabrera hit his second home run of the season, a solo shot to right field, and 1B Devin Davis worked a bases loaded walk, making it 7-5
However, Great Lakes put the game away with two runs in the sixth and another in the eighth to secure the win,
Myers (3-3, 6.07) took the loss for the Hot Rods. He threw two and two-thirds innings, allowinf six hits and seven runs (all earned), walking three, striking out three as well.
The Hot Rods will turn to RHP Austin Franklin (2-2, 4.50) tomorrow night to try and get back in the win column. Great Lakes will counter with RHP Jesus Vargas (4-1, 1.67). First pitch from Dow Diamond is set for 7:05pm Eastern.
