Worth the Wait, Hot Rods win 12th Straight

BOWLING GREEN, KY - The Bowling Green Hot Rods won their 12^th game in a row with a 7-2 win that was delayed for over two hours in the fifth inning.
The Hot Rods started the second half off with a bang, scoring four runs in the bottom of the first inning. 2B Vidal Brujan started things off with a lead-off double, and SS Taylor Walls singled to put runners at the corners. LF Moises Gomez brought them both home with a double and the Hot Rods were up 2-0. C Ronaldo Hernandez continued the RBI parade with a double of his own, and DH Devin Davis caped off the inning with an RBI single to make the game 4-0.
RHP Austin Franklin got the start and threw five shutout innings. He allowed just two hits and one walk while striking out five to pick up his fifth win of the season.
After the top of the fifth inning it rained, and rained, and rained for some two hours and four minutes before play could be resumed and the bottom of the fifth started.
The Hot Rods added on three more runs to their 4-0 lead in the bottom of the sixth thanks to a two run single from Brujan and a wild pitch that allowed Brujan to score and make the score 7-0. The Captains didn't go silent as they scored two runs on a home run from 1B Ulysses Cantu to make the score 7-2.
LHP Hunter Schryver finished out the game for the Hot Rods, recording the final six outs without allowed a run.
The Hot Rods and the Captains will meet again tomorrow at 6:35pm in Bowling Green. Starting pitchers for the game have yet to be announced.
