TAMPA, FL - In the final game of a three game set at George M. Steinbrenner Field, the Tampa Tarpons responded to back to back losses at the hands of the Bradenton Marauders to the tune of a 6-1 win for the home side on Wednesday night. After the Marauders sent 12 batters tothe plate in a six run ninth in game two of the series to claim an 11-6 victory, the Tarpons attained six runs on a matching six hits while only needing ten batters to surmise their only offense for the entire evening which was plenty as the Marauders only clubbed a pair of hits.

The only Marauders run came in the top half of the fifth inning. With the game still scoreless, DH Jesse Medrano worked a two out walk against Tarpons starting pitcher RHP Deivi Garcia and stole second base for his third swipe of the year. INF Adrian Valerio earned his fourth run batted in on a ground ball back up the middle, scoring Medrano from second and counting as the only Bradenton run in the defeat.

RHP Gavin Wallace gave up all the offense for the home side in his second inning of work after retiring the side in his first frame in the seventh, allowing three doubles, a trio of singles and a walk while allowing all the Tampa tallies in the Marauders fifth loss of the year thus far. RHP Max Kranick turned in his best performance through three starts in 2019, earning a no decision after allowing just three hits and no runs, while striking out a single Tarpon batter and not issuing a walk over six innings, his longest outing of the year.

Bradenton begins a six game home stand beginning Thursday night on Thirsty Thursday at LECOM Park as the Jupiter Hammerheads make their first trip across the state this season. RHP Cody Bolton will take the ball in game one for the Marauders, with first pitch scheduled for 6:30 pm.
