BRADENTON, Fla. - In the first game of the final series of the 2018 season between the Bradenton Marauders and the Daytona Tortugas, five ninth inning runs set down the Marauders for the second consecutive evening. RHP Gavin Wallace was solid in his third start in a Marauders uniform, turning in his second seven inning effort by allowing three runs on six hits with four strikeouts to a single walk.

After plating the first run of the game in the second, Bradenton brought home a trio of runs in the home half of the fourth. Albert Baur knocked his second leadoff hit of the evening and was driven around on a Casey Hughston double down the left field line. The Marauders lead was extended to four when Brett Pope brought around two more runners including Hughston and Jason Delay to make the score 4-0 after four frames.

The visitors got on the board for the first time in their half of the sixth inning on a two out, two run home run to left center field, the Reds #10 prospect's first blast of two in the contest. After Florida State League home run leader Ibandel Isabel roped his 20th shot of the season in the seventh and another visiting run scored to tie the game at four in the eighth, Daytona sealed the game with five runs on three hits and three consecutive walks to clinch the game by a 9-4 score. Bradenton scored their third and fourth runs in a late comeback effort that ultimately fell short, but not without valiant efforts from Casey Hughston, Brett Pope, and Jared Oliva who all singled to the tune of two runs scored.

The Marauders continue their three game series on Friday on Super Heroes and Villains Night as part of Geekend at LECOM Park. RHP Mike Wallace takes the hill for Bradenton with first pitch scheduled for 6:30 pm.
