BRADENTON, Fla. - After only playing seven innings since Saturday night, the Bradenton Marauders and Daytona Tortugas were able to complete two seven inning games on Wednesday morning and afternoon. After beginning the first of the two games at 10:30 am on an Education Day at LECOM Park presented by Dominos, the two squads were able to not be stopped or slowed down for the first time over the first three days of the series.

   Going up against the top ERA in the Florida State League in Daytona starter Tony Santillan to begin the day, a raucous crowd of over 2,500 mostly elementary school students cheered on a the Marauders struck for four runs in the first inning, driving Santillan from the game after just 1.2 innings. The first four batters of the game scored for the home team on a leadoff double, a pair of singles and two errors to give the Marauders the lead for good. Another pair of insurance runs were plated on an RBI single from Hunter Owen in the bottom of the fifth inning. James Marvel earned his third win of the season as he threw six of the seven innings on just one run scored on five hits with four strikeouts. 

   The "afternoon-cap" saw the Tortugas earn a four run inning of their own, coming in the top of the second after the Marauders worked a run in the home half of the first. Daytona outfielder Narciso Crook knocked a two run home run as part of the inning for his first hit, home run, and RBIs of his career at the Advanced-A level. Alfredo Reyes turned in the lone multi-hit performance for Bradenton in the loss while also scoring two of the three runs when the final score rested at 4-3. 

   Bradenton finishes the rain-filled four game series against Daytona on Thursday at 6:30 pm, with RHP Luis Escobar on the hill for the Marauders and LHP Scott Moss taking the ball in the finale for the visitors.
