BRADENTON, Fla. - In the middle game of a three game series between the Bradenton Marauders and Clearwater Threshers, the first 1-0 shutout loss of the 2018 season downed the Marauders on Nickelodeon Night, Back to School Night, and Disability Awareness Night at LECOM Park.

RHP Jerad Eickhoff spun two perfect innings to start the game for the Threshers in his first MLB rehab outing since May after injuring his right lat muscle in Spring Training. He was followed by seven shutout innings from LHP David Parkinson in which the team debut for the Phillies #20 prospect featured just two hits and seven strikeouts while continuing the blanking that Eickhoff started.

Jason Delay was the first Marauder to reach base in the home half of the third inning on a leadoff walk as the first batter faced by Parkinson out of the bullpen. Delay would record another first, knocking the first hit of the game for either side with a pair of outs on the board in the fifth. The only other Bradenton batters to reach in the loss were Jared Oliva, who recorded the only other hit in the contest with an out in the ninth inning, and Adrian Valerio who drew a walk immediately following the Oliva final frame single.

RHP Evan Piechota took a tough luck loss in the defeat to move to 0-2 on the year with Bradenton after firing seven innings and allowing a single run on three hits and a walk, all coming in consecutive order in the top of the seventh inning after not allowing a hit through six. LHP Blake Weiman set down all six batters he faced over a perfect pair of late relief innings including a single strikeout.

The Marauders finish their final home series of the season against Clearwater on Sunday at 1:00 with RHP James Marvel on the hill, opposed by RHP Alejandro Requena for the Threshers.
