BRADENTON, Fla. - In the final game of the first half of the 2018 Florid State League season, the Bradenton Marauders took advantage of a rowdy, albeit young crowd on Summer Camp Day #1 for an eight run victory featuring all runs scored in a single frame. An announced attendance of 1,711 watched as Pirates #7 prospect Luis Escobar dazzled on the mound in a 10:30 am start, finishing the first half with a six inning, two hit, no-run outing including six strikeouts to just two walks. Evan Piechota stranded four runners on through his two innings of scoreless work and Jordan Jess allowed the only run of the game on a groundout in the visitor's half of the ninth.

The explosive second inning for the Marauders began with back-to-back walks and a hit by pitch to load the bases for Jason Delay, who drove in two on a double and was brought around on a three run homer from Lucas Tancas, his fourth of the year. Alfredo Reyes added the second long ball of the inning after Adrian Valerio drove home a run on a double and the nine run frame was enough for the home side in the win.

Bradenton finished the first half of the 2018 campaign with a 35-30 record, a mark that finished third for the first half championship in the FSL South, a title that was claimed by Palm Beach on Monday night. Daytona claimed the first half in the North after a Jupiter loss on Tuesday night for the first half-season title in the history of the Tortugas franchise.

The Marauders welcome in the Fort Myers Miracle to open the second half of the season, when the fifth place visitors come to LECOM Park on Thirsty Thursday presented by Budweiser with first pitch scheduled for 6:30.
