Marauders Unveil New Copa Identity: The Bradenton Barbanegras

Bradenton, Fla. - The Bradenton Marauders today unveiled the franchise's Hispanic heritage on-field persona, the Bradenton Barbanegras (Black Beards). The Marauders will play four games as the Barbanegras in 2019 as part of the Minor League Baseball™ (MiLB™) "Copa de la Diversión," or "Fun Cup," a season-long event series entering its second season. Bradenton is participating in Copa for the first time this year.
"Participating in 'Copa de la Diversión' is an exciting opportunity for the Marauders as an organization to expand our ties with the local Hispanic-Latino community," Marauders General Manager Craig Warzecha said. "The Barbanegras are an extension of our existing brand which we look forward to growing in 2019 and beyond."
The Marauders will play as the Barbanegras on May 25, June 7, July 27, and August 11. The team will wear Barbanegras jerseys and the game night promotions will take on a Hispanic-themed flair, including music and food variations to fit the theme. 2018 was the inaugural season of Copa, with 33 teams participating by dedicating a total of 167 games as Copa-designated events. The 2018 participants reported a 12.6 percent attendance increase compared to similar game dates in 2017.  
The LECOM Park ticket office hours are 9:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. on weekdays when there is not a Pirates Spring Training home game until March 23. On Saturdays, the box office is open from 10:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. when there is not a home game. Spring Training day-of-game box office hours are 9:00 a.m. until 30 minutes after the final out.
