Nate March Named Broadcaster of the Year

March has called more than 750 Marauders games

Bradenton, Fla. - The Florida State League today announced Bradenton Marauders broadcaster Nate March has won the Broadcaster of the Year award. March was selected by a vote of the FSL's general managers. He has provided play-by-play for Bradenton since joining the Pittsburgh Pirates organization as Coordinator, Communications & Broadcasting

Bradenton, Fla. - The Florida State League today announced Bradenton Marauders broadcaster Nate March has won the Broadcaster of the Year award. March was selected by a vote of the FSL's general managers. He has provided play-by-play for Bradenton since joining the Pittsburgh Pirates organization as Coordinator, Communications & Broadcasting in 2012.
The 28-year-old March recently completed his sixth season in Bradenton. He has been on the call for more than 750 professional baseball games, including the Marauders' first Florida State League championship in 2016 and the 2014 Florida State League All-Star Game. During his six seasons in the booth, 41 Marauders have graduated to the big leagues.
"The Florida State League has a history of tremendous broadcasters as well as a very strong roster of current announcers, so to be tabbed as the best on the mic this season is a true honor," March said.
In addition to his broadcasting duties, March is the chief media contact for the Pirates' at LECOM Park and Pirate City. He also coordinates Marauders team travel and contributes to sales and marketing efforts for Pirates Spring Training and the Marauders. In 2017, March became the manager of LECOM Park's video board staff and led Bradenton in becoming the first Florida State League team to video stream home games on MiLB TV.
"We are proud of Nate's recognition as Broadcaster of the Year," Marauders General Manager Rachelle Madrigal said. "Nate is a tremendous asset to our organization and our fans have cherished his ability to bring them into the ballpark to share the excitement at LECOM Park and on the road."
March has been an active participant in the Pirates Employee Community Commitment Program throughout his time in Bradenton. He is also part of the Manatee Chamber of Commerce Leadership Manatee class of 2017-2018.  
A native of Munnsville, New York, March currently resides in Bradenton with his wife Rachel. He is a 2011 graduate of the Roy H. Park School of Communications at Ithaca College. His other professional credits include time as an NCAA Division I broadcaster at Colgate University and as an in-house copywriter for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
