LAKEWOOD, NJ (June 4, 2021) – With Jersey Shore leading 3-1 headed to the top of the fourth on Thursday night, the game was suspended due to rain. When play resumed on Friday afternoon - after an hour and 35 minute rain delay - the Cyclones rallied late for a 6-4 win over the Blue Claws.

BIG MOMENTS GAME ONE

  • Brett Baty had a home run on Thursday before play was suspended and hit a three-run blast in the top of the 7th on Friday that gave Brooklyn a 4-3 edge.
  • Brooklyn’s Ronny Mauricio connected on his fifth round-tripper of the year to add some insurance runs in the top of the ninth. His two-run blast made it 6-3.
  • With Brooklyn leading 4-3 in the bottom of the seventh, Bryce Montes de Oca struck out Hunter Hearn with runners on first and second to end the threat and keep the Cyclones ahead.

LAKEWOOD, NJ (June 4, 2021) – Brooklyn jumped out to a 3-0 lead, but Jersey Shore hit four home runs and then scored the go-ahead run thanks to a pair of catcher interference calls to win the nightcap by the count of 5-4.

BIG MOMENTS GAME TWO

  • Brett Baty had a two-RBI single in the top of the 1st and later came home on a sacrifice fly from Luke Ritter that gave the Cyclones a 3-0 lead.
  • Cyclones starter Jaison Vilera surrendered four solo home runs, including a pair in the bottom of the fourth that got the Blue Claws even...Vilera has allowed 10 home runs in 21.0 innings on the mound so far in 2021.
  • Brooklyn’s Francisco Alvarez hit his second home run of the year to give Brooklyn a 4-3 edge in the fifth….Hunter Markwardt hit Jersey Shore’s fourth home run of the game in the bottom of the frame to get things back even.
  • RHP Allan Winans worked out of a bases loaded jam in the bottom of the fifth when he got Rudy Rott to line out to left field to end the threat.
  • Cyclones catcher Jose Mena was called for catcher’s interference twice in the bottom of the sixth inning, leading to a bases loaded with one out situation. Hunter Markwadt hit a grounder to second base on which Brooklyn tried to turn two, but Markwardt beat out the relay throw to first allowing the go-ahead run to score.
