WILMINGTON, DE (June 18, 2021) – With their backs against the wall, the Brooklyn Cyclones, the High-A affiliate of the New York Mets, made an improbable two-out, ninth-inning comeback to beat the Wilmington Blue Rocks 7-5

BIG MOMENTS

  • Down 5-2 in the top of the ninth, the Cyclones rallied for five runs. With two strikes and two outs, Juan Uriarte slammed a two-run single to center field to cut the deficit to one. The next batter, Antoine Duplantis, stretched a go-ahead two-out, two-strike, two-run home run to give the Cyclones a 6-5 lead. Blake Tiberi creamed a solo shot, going back-to-back to make it 7-5.
  • Wilmington crushed three home runs against Jose Butto and scored five total runs against the Brooklyn starter. The Blue Rocks collected solo smashes from Yasel Antuna, Armond Upshaw, and Brady Lindsley.
