8/17 -Superhero Night

Superhero Night -August 17

Look to the sky above the ballpark! It's a bird. It's a plane. No...It's YOU, having an unforgettable experience at the next installment of Superhero Night!

We don't have a giant symbol to light up in the sky, so we are using this webpage to call on all the young Superheroes of Western New York and Southern Ontario! The Bisons and Niagara County Community College present the 5th Annual Superhero Night on Saturday, August 17 as the Bisons take on the Durham Bulls (6:05 p.m.).

Your favorites will be at Sahlen Field to save the day again, with Superhero Characters throughout the ballpark to meet and get your picture taken with, compliments of the Superhero Alliance of Western New York (Ballpark Gates Open at 4 pm)!

All the young superhero boys and girls are also being encouraged to join forces and come dressed as their favorite characters! There will be a storyline played out on the BisonsTV HD scoreboard that culminates in an on-field battle between the superheroes and evil villains....And we may just be calling on YOU to help save the ballpark!

Proceeds of Superhero Night will benefit the Superhero Race & Wellness Walk, held each year at Delaware Park.

*PLEASE NOTE: Only official Superhero Alliance members or volunteers are allowed to be in FULL costume. Children ONLY will be allowed to wear plastic character masks that tie on the head with a rubber band. No prop guns of any kind will be allowed into Sahlen Field.

A Guide for being a Superhero!

First Pitch/Gates

First pitch is at 6:05 p.m. but gates will open at 4pm because of all of the additional activities throughout Sahlen Field. If you plan to use ballpark Will Call, it's also not a bad idea to leave a few minutes earlier to avoid longer lines. The Sahlen Field Box Office will be open on Saturday starting at noon. You might even see some Superheros before you enter the ballpark.

Entering Ballpark/Security

With increased security and the addition of walkthrough metal detectors (click here for full security measures) please note the following: Only official Superhero Alliance members or volunteers are allowed to be in full costume. Children are encouraged to dress up as their favorite Superhero while adults will be asked to remove any masks or helmets covering their faces.

Where do I get a cape or shield?

There will be TWO REDEMPTION CENTERS at stand 121 on the 3rd base side and near section 122 on the 1st base side. A Shield or Cape cost $10 each with proceeds to benefit the Superhero 5K Race which benefits the Mental Health Association and Compeer of Greater Buffalo.

I bought a 4-Pack. Where do I get food?

You can get your Sahlen's hot dog and Coca-Cola in the concourse area near Section 106, as well as any full service stand where Sahlen's hot dogs are sold on the 3rd or 1st base side of the ballpark.

Meet the Characters

50 Characters from the Superhero Alliance of Western New York will be appearing throughout the night and will be available for pictures throughout Sahlen Field in addition to One Celery Place near section 104. Characters will be available from 4:00pm up until the 7th inning. ***outwit the crowd by heading to the Club Level first as characters will be all over Sahlen Field***
