The Bisons gave away a two-run lead but Jonathan Davis provided late-inning heroics to help lead the Herd to a 4-2 win in the series finale against Gwinnett Sunday afternoon from Coolray Field.
Davis galvanized the Bisons offensive resurgence and snapped a 2-2 tie on a solo blast to left-center field on the first pitch he saw in his eighth-inning at-bat. Reese McGuire tacked on an insurance run with an RBI-single to plate Vladimir Guerrero Jr.

The catcher was a key contributor in the win, connecting for three singles throughout the game in addition to recording a stolen base.
The Bisons originally held a two-run lead in the fourth after they capitalized on a wild pitch with two outs in the inning. McGuire scored easily from third base as the ball skipped to the backstop.
The Stripers answered with a run in each of the fifth and sixth innings with the latter coming on a solo shot from Michael Reed to knot the game up at two runs apiece.
Mike Hauschild collected a win in his first start for the Herd last Tuesday and the right-hander looked to continue that positive trend Sunday afternoon.
He sent the tone nicely for his 5.2-inning, two-run start by working consecutive innings of retiring the side in order. Hauschild polished off the outing with four strikeouts.
The Bisons bullpen supported Hauschild to aid in the victory. In a tie game, Danny Barnes inherited a two-on, two-out situation in the sixth and got Alex Jackson to fly out to limit further damage. The reliever also pitched a scoreless seventh.
Craig Breslow struck out the side in the eighth and Jose Fernandez chased down his second save of the season to seal the win in the ninth.
