Blue Jays recall Bisons RHP Neil Wagner

Herd activates Stilson off temporary inactive list
April 9, 2014

The Toronto Blue Jays today announced that they have recalled Buffalo Bisons RHP NEIL WAGNER and optioned RHP MARCUS WALDEN to the Herd.

The Bisons also announced that RHP JOHN STILSON has been activated off the club's temporary inactive list and will be available for Buffalo's doubleheader against the IronPigs in Lehigh Valley tonight.

Wagner has pitched in two of the Bisons three games this year, earning saves on April 3 against Rochester (1.1 IP, 3 SO) and April 6 against the Red Wings (1.0 IP, H, SO). The closer is 18-for-18 in save chances for the Bisons dating back to last season. Last year, Wagner posted a 0.76 ERA in 23 appearances for Buffalo (23.2 IP, 13 H, 38 SO).

Walden had his contract purchased by the Blue Jays on Saturday, but did not appear in a game for Toronto. The reliever opened the 2014 season with the Bisons and pitched an inning of shutout relief in the Herd's Opening Day victory last Thursday.

Stilson was placed on the temporary inactive list on Saturday after pitching in one game for the Bisons this year. The righty allowed a run in 0.2 innings of relief work last Thursday against the Red Wings. In 2013, Stilson was 6-2 with a 2.09 ERA in 33 appearances for the Bisons.
