The outfielder has played in 114 games for Toronto the last 2 seasons, carrying a .256 average with 16 home runs and 50 RBIs. Prior to being placed on the disabled list on May 3, Pearce was batting .273 in 22 games with 3 home runs and 13 RBIs this season.
Pearce, originally drafted by the Pittsburgh Pirates in the 8th Round in 2005, signed with the Blue Jays as a Free Agent on December 5, 2016. Prior to joining Toronto, Pearce had spent time with five other Major League clubs. Most notable was his time with the Baltimore Orioles. He helped the team to 96 regular season wins in 2014, which advanced them to the Postseason. The Orioles made it to the ALCS before being swept by the Kansas City Royals. During the regular season, Pearce compiled his best offensive season of his career. In 102 games, he hit .293 with 26 doubles and 21 home runs.
This will be Pearce's second straight season rehabbing with Buffalo. He had appeared in two games in 2017 for the Bisons, going 2-7 with two runs while playing left field in both games.
