(Burlington-IA)- The Burlington Bees played from behind on Thursday afternoon, two runs in the bottom of the eighth, completing a comeback to defeat the Bowling Green Hot Rods 5-4, sweeping the three game series.

Bees' third baseman Angel Rosa atoned for an early error, tripling in Kody Eaves to cut the Bees' deficit to 3-1. Later in the inning, Eric Aguilera drove in Rosa with a sacrifice fly and the Bees trailed 3-2.

The score would stand until the Hot Rods' got a run back in the top of the seventh thanks to a wild pitch scoring Darryl George and the Bees' trailed 4-2.

Mark Shannon pulled the Bees back to within a run thanks to a solo homerun to right, his first of the year.

The Bees' capped off their comeback in the bottom of the eighth inning, Ranyelmy Mendoz singled back up the middle scoring Angel Rosa and after the ball was booted, Eric Aguilera crossed the plate to give the Bees the lead. The Bees would hang on despite a late rally by the Hot Rods' and win the ball game 5-4, sweeping Bowling Green.

Bees' relief pitcher Eswarlin Jimenez (1-1) picked up the win while Andrew Hanse was pegged with the loss. Alan Busenitz (2) pitched the ninth, earning the save.
