(Burlington, IA) - The Burlington Bees (58-75) lost the second game of a doubleheader, losing 8-4 in extra innings to the Beloit Snappers (62-70) on Monday night.

Just like game one, the Snappers opened the scoring in game two of the doubleheader. Josh Vidales started the inning with a single to right and then moved to third on a bunt single and an error, placing runners on the corners. Beloit took a 1-0 lead thanks to a wild pitch, scoring Vidales. The Snappers added to their lead in the third inning thanks to a JaVon Shelby solo home run to left, pushing the lead to 3-0.

The Bees made it a one-run game in the fifth. With one out, Artemis Kadkhodaian drew a walk and then moved to second when Leo Rivas walked. After a wild pitch moved the runners over, Jonah Todd reached on an infield single and an error, scoring both Kadkhodaian and Rivas, cutting the deficit to 3-2. For the second straight game, the Bees battled back to tie the game. Leonardo Rivas singled to right, driving in Kerr, tying the game at three.

The game would head to extra innings and the Snappers would bat 11 times in the eighth inning, scoring five runs. The Bees picked up a run in the bottom of the eighth on an Artemis Kadkhodaian sacrifice fly but would lose 8-4. Joseph Camacho (3-3) earned the win while Jonah Wesely (1-1) was charged with the loss.

Following the off-day, the Bees will head to Cedar Rapids to start a three-game series with the Cedar Rapids Kernels on Wednesday at 6:35 p.m. Andrew Vinson will make the start for the Bees in the series opener.
