Bees Shutout by Cubs, 9-0

Bees lose fifth straight home game

(Burlington, IA) - The Burlington Bees (10-18) were shutout by the South Bend Cubs (20-11), 9-0, on Tuesday afternoon at Community Field.

The Cubs bats stayed hot, putting a four-run inning together in the top of the third. DJ Wilson got things started with a one-out double and then scored on a Zack Short single, giving the Cubs a 1-0 lead. After a Yeiler Peguero RBI single, Alberto Mineo doubled in a pair of runs, extending the lead to 4-0.

South Bend added three runs in the sixth inning. Jhonny Pereda and Isaac Paredes both doubled in the inning, upping the lead to 7-0. South Bend added insurance runs in the ninth on their way to a 9-0 win over the Bees.

Duncan Robinson (4-1) pitched seven shutout innings, earning the win while Bees' starter Travis Herrin (0-2) was charged with the loss.
